Meet The Team

Valerie Mitchell

Val started her career training in holistic and alternative therapies. Over time she fell into Senior Management within the corporate financial world, although continuing with her therapy training. Val qualified as a counsellor and volunteered for a number of charities for many years.

It was during a difficult time in Val's life that she turned to meditation.

I had just lost my Mum and was struggling with the stresses of every day life. A friend gave me a book on mindful meditation and was immediately curious. I joined a local Buddhist centre and became a student. Within a few weeks I felt an elevation of finally finding the missing piece of my life. The practice allowed time to stand still, freeing my anxieties and giving me a whole new look on life. It was infectious and knew I wanted to share my journey. I trained as a teacher in Meditation and moved to France in the hope that one day my dream of setting up my own retreat would come to fruition.

Thanks to my co-founders Diane, Kim and Anne my dream has come to reality and I can't wait to share this wonderful gift with you.

Over 15 years ago, my yoga trip (after a serious traffic accident) started with a teacher training. I stumbled, stiff as a tree trunk, tired from all the pain in a 3-day seminar (I didn't read the homepage properly). My teacher at the time and all yoginis gave me support, hope and energy ... My journey started. After one year I started a multi-year apprenticeship" just for me". Multiple trips to India inspired me - for all possible yoga styles. My hours are dynamic (mix of Hatha vinyasa flow, Yin, Kundalini and power yoga). Later I completed an apprenticeship at yoga alliance. I was a little less curious about meditation. I went through the preparation for the Vipassana meditation. And stayed with it. People ask me if I'm a yogi. The answer is pretty simple; no, I am not. As much as I love the practice of yoga, I am simply a human being who enjoys yoga. When you choose to take a class with me, my hope is, that you'll feel "lit" up and maybe choose to spread that "love" everywhere. Do yoga... give this world good energy.
